Six years ago, in November 2018, we launched StrikingWeb with a simple mission: build digital products that genuinely serve businesses. Today, as we celebrate our sixth anniversary, we find ourselves in the middle of the most exciting transformation the technology industry has ever seen. The rise of AI has reshaped how we work, what we build, and how we think about the future of software development.
This milestone feels different from our previous anniversaries. Not because of the number itself, but because of the scale of change we have navigated in the past year. From integrating AI into our development workflows to launching entirely new service lines, 2024 has been a year of reinvention without losing sight of the fundamentals that made us who we are.
The Year AI Changed Everything
When we wrote our five-year anniversary post, generative AI was still in its early stages. ChatGPT had been around for roughly a year, and most agencies were still figuring out whether AI was a passing trend or a permanent shift. We chose to go all in.
Over the past twelve months, we have embedded AI capabilities across every layer of our operations. Our developers use AI-assisted coding tools daily, not as a replacement for expertise but as an accelerator. Code reviews that used to take hours now take minutes. Boilerplate generation is handled in seconds. The result is that our engineers spend more time on architecture decisions, user experience optimization, and the creative problem-solving that machines cannot replicate.
"AI did not replace our developers. It freed them to focus on the work that actually matters — solving complex business problems with elegant technical solutions."
We also launched our dedicated AI and Machine Learning service line this year. Clients are no longer asking whether they should use AI. They are asking how fast they can deploy it. We have helped businesses implement intelligent search systems, automated document processing pipelines, recommendation engines, and conversational interfaces powered by large language models.
New Services and Capabilities
Beyond AI, we expanded our service portfolio to address the evolving needs of our clients:
- AI Strategy and Implementation — We help businesses identify high-impact use cases for AI and build production-ready solutions, from proof of concept to full deployment.
- FinOps and Cloud Cost Optimization — As cloud spending continues to rise, we introduced dedicated FinOps consulting to help clients reduce costs without sacrificing performance or reliability.
- Enterprise Application Modernization — Several of our long-standing clients needed help migrating legacy systems to modern architectures. We built a specialized practice around this.
- Blockchain and Web3 Consulting — For clients exploring decentralized solutions, we now offer blockchain architecture and smart contract development services.
Each of these additions was driven by real client demand, not trend-chasing. We only build practices where we can deliver genuine expertise and measurable outcomes.
Team Growth and Culture
Our team has grown significantly this year. We added senior engineers specializing in AI/ML, cloud architecture, and mobile development. But growth for us has never been about headcount alone. We invested heavily in upskilling our existing team members, running internal workshops on prompt engineering, vector databases, and retrieval-augmented generation.
We also formalized our mentorship program, pairing junior developers with senior engineers for structured learning paths. The results have been remarkable — several of our junior team members shipped production features within their first quarter that would have been considered senior-level work just two years ago.
Remote-first remains our operating model, and it continues to give us access to exceptional talent regardless of geography. Our team now spans multiple time zones, which means our clients effectively get extended coverage without paying for round-the-clock staffing.
By the Numbers
Some highlights from our sixth year:
- 85+ projects delivered across web, mobile, cloud, and AI
- 40% revenue growth year over year, driven primarily by AI services and enterprise clients
- 12 new enterprise clients onboarded, including three in the healthcare sector
- 99.7% uptime maintained across all managed infrastructure
- 4.9/5 average client satisfaction score across all completed projects
These numbers tell a story of consistent execution. But the metric we are most proud of is our client retention rate, which remains above 90%. Businesses come back to us because we deliver on our promises and because we treat their products as if they were our own.
Lessons from Year Six
Every year teaches us something new. Here are the key lessons from our sixth year:
1. Adopt AI Thoughtfully, Not Recklessly
The temptation to add AI to everything is strong. But we learned early that the best AI implementations solve specific, well-defined problems. A chatbot that answers customer queries accurately is infinitely more valuable than an AI feature crammed into a product without clear purpose.
2. Fundamentals Still Win
Amid all the AI excitement, the projects that succeeded most were the ones built on solid fundamentals — clean architecture, thorough testing, proper documentation, and clear communication with stakeholders. Technology changes, but engineering discipline does not.
3. Client Education Is Part of the Job
Many clients came to us wanting AI because of the hype cycle. Part of our job was helping them understand what AI can realistically do today, what it cannot, and where the investment would yield the highest return. Being honest about limitations builds trust and leads to better outcomes.
Looking Ahead
As we enter our seventh year, we are preparing for what we believe will be the most consequential period in software development history. AI agents are becoming more capable. Edge computing is bringing processing closer to users. The line between web and native applications continues to blur.
Our focus for 2025 is clear: deepen our AI capabilities, expand our enterprise practice, and continue investing in the people who make StrikingWeb what it is. We are also exploring partnerships with AI platform providers to offer our clients more integrated solutions.
To our clients, partners, and team members — thank you for six incredible years. The best is very much ahead of us.
